The annual charity football match at Loddon in aid of the charity CRY and the Royal Marsden Hospital always raises a good deal of support – and this year’s fixture was no exception.
Organisers Colin Forder and Chris Grice are very grateful to Loddon United for the hire of the kit and pitch, and for the donation of £300 from the golf day.
Thanks are also due to all the people who played and to referee Les Grice, Alan Cook for sponsoring the cost of the food, Philip Taylor for the food preparation at the King’s Head and selling of raffle tickets, and to everybody who came along and helped to raise £810.
A sum of £405 will go to CRY in memory of Kevin Sayer, who died aged 17 from a heart condition, and £405 to Royal Marsden Hospital in memory of Matt Green, who died aged 19 from cancer. Both were keen sportsmen and had played for Loddon.
