An ardent fund-raiser who braved 10 marathons in 10 weeks is preparing to hop back on the charity saddle for her next challenge.

Anne Beckett-Allen, director at Rosedale Funeral Home in Attleborough, endured the feat to raise funds for the home's 10th anniversary £10,000 fund-raising challenge.

Despite a vow to take it easy, the mother-of-two quickly signed up for the Lap of Anglia charity task, which will see her cycle 400 miles around the region to raise funds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

'Running the marathons was definitely a challenge but I am a keen runner so I knew what to expect, but it has been a while since I have cycled any distance,' she said.

Mrs Beckett-Allen, of Bungay Road in Scole, was joined by her family to complete the Coast to Coast cycle route last summer, a 140-mile long stint around the Norfolk coast.

But in less than a week, she will race through Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambrdigeshire and Bedfordshire in four days - a total of 10 hours in the saddle a day.

Although the keen athlete predicts that she will be 'very sore', she is feeling positive and hopes it will boost the home's fund-raising total.

'I cannot wait for that sense of achievement when I cross the finish line - this is my final contribution to Rosedale's tenth anniversary challenge.'

She will start on Wednesday, August 13. To sponsor Mrs Beckett-Allen:
