Temporary traffic lights are in operation on the A149 today, while the road is repaired after a burst water main.
Part of Lynn Road, Hunstanton, was closed off on Wednesday afternoon, after it was flooded by a burst water main.
Firefighters were called to the scene - 20yds down the road from the town’s fire station - to pump away the water.
Parts of the town were without water for more than five hours. Burst mains have cut supplies to Hunstanton on a number of occasions in recent summers.
Anglian water said today: “We are very sorry that a burst to a main on King’s Lynn Road in Hunstanton resulted in a loss of water for customers yesterday.
“We were alerted to the issue at around 2.30pm on Wednesday and quickly sent engineers to repair the main.
“Most customers were back on water by 9pm. Supply for the remaining customers returned to normal in the early hours of this morning.
“Unfortunately due to the size of the pipe there was considerable damage to the road and as a result there is traffic management in place while we repair the surface.”
The company said it would look at “historical data” on its mains to see if future breaches could be prevented.
