Norfolk’s emergency services have received a surge in calls today following this morning’s icy weather.

The East of England Ambulance Service crews have been busy attending to around 14 traffic accidents since 6.30am today.

And Norfolk Police have issued this warning on its Twitter feed: “Take care out there this morning! Freezing temperatures overnight means slippery conditions, particularly on untreated roads!”

The frost is expected to disappear by late morning and the day will continue to be dry with light winds with some long periods of winter sunshine.

  • "Have you been effected by this morning’s icy roads?" No, but had I misfortune to still live in the country, I might have been "affected" by this weather. Spell check is only valuable up to a point, Ms Bishop
