Anthony Marsh, who has been chief executive of the region’s ambulance service since January, was presented with the award by the Prince of Wales at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

He said: “I’m honoured to have received this prestigious award, however, I couldn’t have done so without the hard work and dedication of my ambulance service colleagues.

“I’m extremely proud to have been part of the service for 27 years now, and I look forward to continuing to work to improve the service that we offer to patients in the east of England.”
