The snow may have all melted away now, but during the weekend the experienced instructors and club jumpers at UK Parachuting took a chance to see its reach from 13,000ft.

Jason Thompson, co-owner of UK Parachuting, Ellough, said: “Both our tandem instructors and experienced club jumpers have been itching to take to the air since the new year, and while we have been fortunate enough to get some days in this year, nothing was as spectacular as what awaited us this weekend.

“Snow on the ground, but perfect conditions in the air – still winds and blue skies, while still cold at –10 degrees it was the views that were breathtaking.”

He said they were able to see as far as Caister to the north and Sizewell to the south.

Pete Long and Rick Thompson took the photos of the tandem jumps by instructors Steve Wilkins and Steve Wickham.
