An air ambulance was scrambled today after a woman in her eighties fell in her home and broke her leg.

It landed on the field at the junction of Cromer Road and Lighthouse Lane, from where medics ran to the woman’s home.

A spokesman for the East Anglian Air Ambulance said Dr Victor Inyang and critical care paramedic Rod Wells were flown to the scene aboard Anglia One by Captain Steve Norris.

The team treated the woman at the scene before of the incident, which happened at around 11am.

They left her in the care of a land ambulance crew, who took her to hospital.
