A child was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in King’s Lynn this morning.

The youngster was on a push bike when the crash happened on John Kennedy Road at 11.45am.

A crew from the East Anglian Air Ambulance, along with police officers and paramedics, were called to the scene and landed in Austin Field car park at around 12noon.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said the boy sustained a broken leg in the crash. An East Anglian Air Ambulance spokesman said the boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn by land ambulance.

Following the incident, people posted messages on social network website Twitter.

One user tweeted: “Just seen young lad lying in the middle of John Kennedy Road. Could have been knocked down. Paramedics on the scene. He looks okay.”

Meanwhile another user tweeted: “It’s not looking good. One of our managers saw it happen poor lad.”
