There was special recognition for the work of the Eastern Daily Press’ agricultural editor, Michael Pollitt, in an awards ceremony at the Royal Norfolk Show.

Mr Pollitt, who leaves the newspaper next week after 30 years dedicated service, was presented with the award of Honorary Vice President of the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association by Prince Edward.

The award was is recognition for 30 years covering the Royal Norfolk Show, but also for his wider contribution to the county’s farming and countryside.

“I am delighted to receive an award from the association recognising my contribution to reporting agriculture, food and farming,” said Mr Pollitt.

“I am particularly pleased because I founded the Spring Fling and the infant has grown into a maturing teenager. But I am now looking forward to a new challenge in the next phase of my career.”
