The Norwich-bound road between the A1122 roundabout, towards Downham Market, and the A1065 slip road was shut at 11.50am. The road re-opened at 1.20pm.

The driver of the Renault Megane, a man in his 30s, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn with neck and back pain.

A spokesman from the East of England Ambulance Service said the injuries were minor.

Three fire crews from Swaffham, Great Massingham and Thetford were called as well as paramedics.

Motorists were diverted while the dual carriageway was cleared.
