The brother of a 27 year old University student killed in a collision on the A47 has issued an emotional appeal for witnesses to come forward to help police with their inquiries.

Sukhdeep Johal had been helping out at his father’s clothes store in Wisbech and was on his way home to Leicester when his blue Peugeot 206 was involved in a three vehicle collision near Thorney at 4.30pm last Friday.

Despite efforts by Magpas emergency crew he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His brother, Amandeep Johal, told how his football mad brother had just one more exam to sit before finishing a degree in Biomedical Science at Leicester’s De Montford University.

He urged anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward.

“Our family want anyone to come forward who saw anything to please give help as to why it happened.

“We hope for information, no matter how small, please get in touch with Police,” Amandeep said.

Sukhdeep was travelling towards Peterborough on a single carriageway stretch of the A47 when his car was involved in a collison with a green Jaguar X type saloon which was travelling behind him and a Tesco lorry which was coming in the opposite direction.

Amandeep said police especially wanted to talk to anyone who was travelling behind his brother’s blue Peugeot.

“If anyone had been behind his car they would know specifically what happened,” he said.

Sukhdeep had been helping out at his father’s shop, The Fashion Centre, in High Street, Wisbech and was on his way back home when the tragedy happened.

A Peterborough woman driving the green Jaguar suffered minor injuries and the lorry driver, a 56 year old Wisbech man, was not injured.
