A47 crash near Swaffham leaves two people injured and causes travel delays

A three-vehicle crash is causing delays on the A47 outside Swaffham.

The accident happened near Necton, close to the North Pickenham Road junction, at about 8.45am.

An ambulance service spokesman said two people were hurt, one in a car and one in a van.

One person was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn with a back injury and one was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with a chest injury. Neither injury was considered to be life-threatening.

The accident caused delays in both directions, although all lanes have since been re-opened

A fire appliance from Dereham also attended, making the scene safe and assisting the ambulance crews with casualty care.
