Drivers faced long delays on Norfolk’s main east - west route this afternoon, after a crash involving a car towing a caravan.

The caravan, which was being towed by a grey Skoda Octavia, overturned scattering debris along the road, before sliding into a ditch at around 12-noon.

A couple from Lincolnshire, who were travelling in the car, escaped with minor injuries.

Long queues built up in both directions, as a crane was brought in to recover the caravan and firefighters cleared debris from the road.

Police said the road was now returning to normal after the vehicle was recovered.
