A flock of sheep escaped on to the A140 Ipswich Road in Tasburgh this morning.
The sheep were loose in the village, to the south of Norwich, around 50 metres north of the Hempnall Road junction.
Police were called to the scene at 6.30am after an open access to a field was reported.
The sheep were grazing at the side of the road when officers arrived. The owner of the field was tracked down and the sheep were ushered back into the field, with the owner told to secure the fencing of the field.
Police left the scene at around 8.15am with the sheep having caused few problems, despite thick fog in the area.
Fog was making driving conditions difficult around the region this morning, prompting the Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing Unit to urge drivers to think about how to drive safely.
Tthe @NSRoadsPolicing Twitter account has been used to say: “If you’ve got fog, put your lights on, but don’t rely on auto lights. Also don’t cause unnecessary dazzle with fog lamps!”
