A fund-raising group behind a town play park idea has received a £5,000 cash boost.

The Sheringham Play Park Revamp project will receive the money from Sheringham Town Council, after the grant was approved last night (Tuesday).

Members aim to raise £100,000 for improved equipment on land off Cromer Road.

They have so far raised £14,200 and received £25,000 from North Norfolk District Council.

Equipment for an infant area has been ordered and the group hopes to use the town council funds for equipment in the junior area.

Town council members also approved £2,000 for Sheringham in Bloom, which will go towards planters.
