As Phyllis Durrant approached her 99th birthday celebrations at a city care home she knew exactly what she wanted.

Phyllis didn't just want tea and cake to celebrate, she wanted a bit of eye candy to enjoy as well.

That's where Justin from Buff Boyz Butlers came in.

Phyllis has been a resident at Broadlands Lodge care home in Postwick since September 2023 and celebrated her 99th birthday last Thursday.

Staff at the care home were initially "taken aback" by a request for a ‘Butler in the Buff’.

Max Andrews, business support manager for Danforth Care, the company that owns Broadlands Lodge, said: “It’s the last thing you expect a woman of that age to ask for!"

When they realised that she was serious about the request, staff took on the challenge and enjoyed trying to arrange the visit, with Max adding that “they really wanted to make the wish happen".

Phyllis, who was born on April 18, 1925, was paid a visit by Justin, who even hand-delivered her a birthday cake and sang her an extra special happy birthday.

The tattooed butler, who was dressed only in a tiny apron with collar and cuffs, said “She was really sweet and had a great time.

Phyllis wasn’t the only person enjoying themselves at Broadlands Lodge though.

Justin’s visit was well received by many of the other residents and staff of the care home who made sure to pose for photos with him.

Phyllis is yet to decide what she will do for her 100th birthday.
