A hedgehog rescue story has inspired a new album by a Norfolk singer-songwriter.

Paul Thompson was moved to create the title track of his album, Baby Hedgehog, after nursing an injured hedgehog back to health.

The songs express appreciation for nature and concern for the environment.

Alongside the album's debut, a portion of its proceeds will go towards the Sheringham Hedgehog Hotel, a centre dedicated to saving distressed hedgehogs.

Mr Thompson said: "I wrote Baby Hedgehog after finding an injured hedgehog near my recording studio, and was very moved by the experience.

"When I found out about the great work that Sheringham Hedgehog Hotel do rescuing injured and sick hedgehogs I wanted to do something to help them."

After the album's launch on May 4, from 3-5pm in the Walled Garden of The Stables in Gresham Hall, Mr Thompson plans to embark on a national tour.

The concert-goers will be treated to a live fire-juggler performance during the interval and knitted baby hedgehog souvenirs are available.
