Pupils at West Lynn Primary School had a brush with the law when police officers paid a visit.
PC Brand and another officer spent time with a class of 22 children at the school, discussing their roles and day-to-day police work.
Joanne Sewell, a teacher at the school, said: “They came to talk to the reception children about the role of police officers and what things their job involves.
“We talked about ‘stranger danger’ and put an emphasis on the police being there to help and support the community."
PC Brand quizzed the children on what they think a police officer does.
"The majority of the answers were ‘to catch bad people and put them in jail’.
"PC Brand said that was only part of the job – they find people or children who may have been lost, help at traffic accidents, and their role is to help and keep people safe." said Miss Sewell.
Following the talk, the children had a hands-on experience with police uniforms and patrol cars.
