Firefighters were called to tackle a huge blaze on the outskirts of Norwich on Thursday evening.

Crews from Sprowston, Earlham, Carrow, Wymondham and Acle were sent to a fire in the field behind Dr Torrens Way in Costessey at 8.47pm.

They used hose reel jets and hand appliances to extinguish the fire and remained at the scene until 9.57pm. 

There were no injuries reported and no further investigation is taking place.

Police have recorded it as accidental, with nothing to say there are suspicious circumstances.

Nathan Kinderoo captured crews tackling the huge blaze in video footage taken at 9.10pm. 

He saw two police cars and two fire engines at the scene.
