A man accused of stealing more than £70 worth of confectionary from a city sweet shop has failed to appear in court.
Lee Beeston, 56, has been charged with the theft of multiple packets of sweets from the Oh So Sweet store in Norwich in two separate incidents within a few days of each other.
It is said multiple packets of sweets, worth £65 were taken from the White Lion Street-based store on September 5 last year with a further two packets, worth £11, taken a few days later on September 23 last year.
Beeston, from Bracondale, Norwich, was due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on Tuesday but failed to attend court for the hearing.
The case was adjourned until May 20 when Beeston will be informed to attend or the case could be proved in his absence.
