A man who has admitted supplying a "substantial" amount of cocaine between Norwich and Blackpool faces a hearing to determine how much drugs were involved before he is sentenced.

Louis Boyle, 35, has pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and conspiracy to supply cocaine between January and November 2022.

Norwich Crown Court heard while Boyle accepts he delivered "significant" quantities of cocaine but would be surprised it was as much as 13 kilos.

But Will Carter, prosecuting, said a "generous figure for the amount of cocaine that went through his (Boyle's) hands would be 30 kilos".

He said there was a "gulf" between the figure suggested by Boyle and that put forward by the prosecution meaning there would need to be a Newton hearing - where a judge tries to ascertain which party is right - to determine the figure before he can be sentenced.

Judge Katharine Moore fixed a two-day hearing for May 7 and 8.
