A fresh appeal has been issued in the search for a missing 92-year-old man from Sheringham, after police received new information.

Norman Carter was thought to have vanished after visiting the town's Tesco in Cromer Road at about 4pm on Wednesday, May 24.

However, CCTV footage released today shows he was actually last seen in the store on Tuesday. This is now considered the last sighting of the missing man.

He was spotted in the shop at around 4.40pm, before being seen a short time later walking in Cromer Road, towards West Runton, at around 5.10pm.

The CCTV footage shows the outfit he is believed to have been wearing at the time of his disappearance.

It shows him with a hat, navy coat, pale shirt, blue jeans, and brown shoes.

Sergeant Daisy Norman, of Norfolk police, said: “Clearly as time moves on, we are becoming increasingly concerned for Norman’s welfare.

"Searches have been carried out in the local area with the support of Norfolk Lowland Search and Rescue and these continue.

"We’ve also been examining local CCTV in efforts to establish Norman’s movements and we now know he visited Tesco on Tuesday, not Wednesday as originally thought.

“Norman was captured on CCTV leaving the Tesco store on Tuesday and then a short time later walking down Cromer Road. This is the last known sighting of him and shows what he was wearing.

"We hope this might help to jog people’s memories. If anyone has seen Norman or knows of his current whereabouts please call police immediately.”

Norman is described as being 5ft 7 in height and of average build. He wears glasses and has a scruffy beard.

He could be in the Sheringham area, though it is possible he has travelled elsewhere.
