From the biggest stars of the 80s to top DJs, there is a music festival for every taste coming to Norfolk over the summer of 2023.
1. Norfolk and Norwich Festival
Where: Norwich with satellite events across Norfolk
When: May 12-28
This historic annual arts festival returns in May, with a jam-packed programme of live music, circus, theatre, literature and more, with many of the activities and events free.
Lots of the fun is centred around Chapelfield Gardens and the Adnams Spiegeltent.
A new event for 2023 is the Norwich Art Path, with creative experiences between Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts on the UEA campus.
2. Festival Too
Where: Tuesday Market Place, King's Lynn
When: June 24-July 8
This free festival returns to the centre of King's Lynn over three consecutive weekends from June 24.
The line-up is still to be announced but it combines local musicians with chart-topping acts, with Pop Idol winner Will Young as the headliner in 2022.
3. Houghton Festival
Where: Houghton Hall, Houghton
When: August 10-13
This electronic music festival attracts both attendees and acts from across the country and even further afield to the stunning grounds of Houghton Hall.
The 2023 line-up includes returning favourites Ricardo Villalobos, Zip, Ben UFO, Helena Hauff, Bobby, Sonja Moonear, Jane Fitz and Francesco Del Garda.
Newcomers include Danielle, Yu Su, Donato Dozzy, Josey Rebelle, Sugar Free, Object Blue and Shy One.
4. VW Whitenoise Festival
Where: Norfolk Showground, New Costessey
When: August 10-13
VW Whitenoise Festival returns to the Norfolk Showground in August and it is a must-visit for Volkswagen enthusiasts.
The main event is the Sunday show ‘n shine, packed with dubs and classics and retro bicycles.
It offers an affordable camping weekend with a live stage and dance tent, free roller skating and a children's entertainer too.
5. Let's Rock Norwich
Where: Earlham Park, Norwich
When: August 19
Let's Rock Norwich returns to Earlham Park by popular demand with some of the biggest acts of the 80s and it is a family-friendly event.
The headliners this year are Bananarama and Happy Mondays, who will be joined by the likes of Tony Hadley, Heaven 17 and Toyah.
The retro festival, which goes to locations across the UK, also boasts a Club Tropicana VIP area.
6. Maui Waui Festival
Where: Hill Farm, Gressenhall
When: August 25-27
Maui Waui Festival 2023 will boast six stages hosting more than 100 bands and acts, including Tankus The Henge, Bentley Rhythm Ace, Dub Pistols, Slamboree, Afriquoi, Town of Cats and Mista Trick.
There is also a pirate ship complete with smoke-firing canons, sails and pyrotechnics in the electronic dance area, which will host world-class DJs.
This colourful festival is ideal for families and children aged 13 and under go free, with the Kids Area to keep them entertained.
7. Sundown Festival
Where: Norfolk Showground, New Costessey
When: September 1-3
Sundown Festival is one of the last UK music festivals of the summer and this year's headliners are Chase & Status and Tion Wayne.
Other big names announced include Raye, Joel Corry, Example, Hybrid Minds and the UK Eurovision entry Mae Muller.
Festival-goers can get either camping, weekend no camping or day tickets, with shuttle buses running from Norwich.
