The main access route onto Happisburgh beach has been cut off.
The bottom of the ramp which leads from the clifftop car park onto the beach has been washed away.
North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) has closed the ramp and is planning to repair it, but has been unable to say when access will be restored.
A spokesperson from NNDC said: “Following the strong winds and big tides over the weekend, the toe of the earth ramp at Happisburgh was washed away making it difficult to access the beach on this eroding coastline.
"The council has instructed its contractor to close the ramp temporarily until we can remake a satisfactory safe access which will commence when the wind has returned to a southerly direction and the tides have eased off.”
