A popular family man who died from oesophageal cancer will be remembered at a live music event at the Railway Tavern in Dereham on Saturday.
Adrian Hargreaves, known locally as Huggy, lived in Beeston with his wife Linda and their four young children and died aged 45 in August 2013 – just six weeks after he was diagnosed with the disease.
His great friend Paul Sandford, who runs the Railway Tavern, is holding the event in his memory and to raise money for the oesophagus cancer research unit at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.
Hugfest is an all-day event with free entry but donations welcomed to the charity.
The musical line-up is as follows:
12pm Ash Barton
1pm Thomas Bainbridge
2pm Kolin Durier
3pm Darren Spalding
4pm Naomi Milburn
5pm Professor Peach
7pm open mic
8pm Dean Vann
9pm headlining act Miserable Man.
There will be a barbecue and sporting memorabilia auction sponsored by Spas Unlimited of Norwich Rd, Dereham.
Mr Sandford said: 'Adrian was one of my closest friends. He succumbed to this wicked form of cancer, which is claiming more lives than any other cancer, so I would like to raise as much money as possible.'
