A woman has been taken to hospital after a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Swaffham this lunchtime.

The ambulance service was called at 12.18pm to the site on Princes Street at the Whitsands Road junction.

A spokesman said a rapid response vehicle was on the scene two minutes later, and a woman in her 20s was suffering from lower back pain.

She was treated at the scene for nearly one and a half hours, before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn at 1.46pm.

Police said a blue Citron Berlingo was involved.
