Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash which resulted in a 22-year-old man being flown to hospital with serious head injuries after his car crashed into a tree in north Norfolk.
The A1151 Norwich Road, north of Hoveton, was partially blocked after the black Vauxhall Corsa crashed into a tree at around 8.40am yesterday, near to the junction with Cangate Road.
The East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance to the scene but the man was eventually flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridgeshire by the East of England Air Ambulance.
An EEAST spokesman said the man had been in a serious but stable condition when he left the scene of the crash.
Fire crews from Wroxham and Stalham both also attended the crash, to provide trauma care and make the vehicle and scene safe.
A police spokesman said: “Officers want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or saw the manner of driving of the vehicle beforehand.”
Any witnesses should contact PC Simone Sutcliffe at Acle Roads Policing on 101.
