is more than two centuries since Norfolk-born Horatio
Nelson earned his place in history with his victory
and death at the Battle of Cape Trafalgar.
As recently as 2005 saw the culmination
of the Nelson Decade, celebrating his life and times
and September 2008 sees more celebrations on the 250th
Anniversary of his 1758 birth at Burnham Thorpe, North

Here we pay tribute to Norfolk's
own hero, Horatio Nelson, with features on his life,
his passionate relationship with Lady Emma Hamilton,
his battles and his beloved county of Norfolk.

his progress, from his birth in 1758, through his formative
years as a 13 year old and his first Navy posting, following
his progress through the ranks and the events that would
lead to him becoming 'a man of history' and onwards
to his victory and death at the Battle of Trafalgar
