Drivers faced delays after a car crashed into a ditch on the A47 between Norwich and Great Yarmouth.

The crash, involving a silver Mondeo, happened on the Yarmouth-bound carriageway, between Brundall and North Burlingham at about 3.15pm today.

It happened on the single carriageway stretch and led to long tailbacks while emergency services, including firefighters from Carrow and the ambulance service, attended the scene.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “A man in his 40s suffered a minor injury to his abdomen. He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital as a precaution.”

The vehicle was removed by 4.40pm, but drivers continued to face delays for some time.
