Traffic was at a standstill around the stadium last night as up to 30,000 attended the first of two shows by the band in Norwich.

Police had to close Koblenz Avenue and King Street at times throughout the evening due to pedestrians on the road and there was heavy traffic on roads throughout the city including Rouen Road, Prince of Wales Road and Magdalen Street.

Another 30,000 people are set to descend on Carrow Road tonight for the second show which has sold out.

Norfolk Constabulary are once again advising motorists to avoid the area and have warned that traffic calming measures will be in place around the stadium ahead of the concert and following the conclusion of the gig at around 10.30pm Koblenz Avenue and surrounding roads may be closed for a short period of time to allow people to safely exit the venue.

Road closures remain in place on Canaryfields - for its entire length from its junction with Geoffrey Watling Way to a point 150 metres north of its junction with Carrow Road, on Carrow Road - from its western junction with Geoffrey Watling Way to its eastern junction with Geoffrey Watling Way covering a distance of 545 metres and on Geoffrey Watling Way – for its entire length from its junction with Koblenz Avenue to a point 450 metres east of that junction. These will stay in place until Sunday.

As a result of the road closures a number First bus services 25,26 and 26A have been diverted.

Until 3pm, all buses will go via Koblenz Avenue and not round the back of the football ground. After 3pm all buses will go direct from Prince of Wales Road to the Rail Station forecourt - stops on Thorpe Road and at Morrisons will therefore not be served after 3pm.

For those driving to the concert there will be no public parking at the stadium but the County Hall car park will be open from 5pm along with other car parks in the city.
