Trains between Norwich and north Norfolk are beginning to return to normal after early morning services were affected by overrunning engineering works.

Rail operator Greater Anglia warned passengers that they were unable to operate rail replacement buses to cover cancelled trains.

However, the first trains to run this morning are the 8.21am from Norwich to Sheringham and the 9.46am from Sheringham to Norwich.

A spokesman for Greater Anglia said: “Following earlier over running weekend engineering works, train services running between Norwich and Sheringham have now resumed.”

“Customers are advised we have been unable to source rail replacement buses to cover cancelled trains. However, local bus operator, Sanders of Holt, will be accepting Greater Anglia ticket holders on routes 44, 44A, x44.”

“We thank you for your patience and understanding, whilst the problems are resolved.”
