A three-car crash caused rush-hour hold-ups by Norwich’s County Hall.

The collision happened at 4.30pm today (Wednesday) at the roundabout by County Hall, in Martineau Lane.

Police restricted the flow of the traffic so that there was only one lane open heading into the city, rather than two, and they advised commuters to avoid the area.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire engines, as one female casualty with suspected neck and back injuries was cut out of a car as a precaution.

The East of England Ambulance Service sent two response cars and an ambulance.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: “One female patient was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with a suspected neck and back injury.

“Three other patients were also treated on scene for minor injuries.”
