The future plans of Norwich's airport will be unveiled at a public exhibition today.

Norwich's airport future plans were unveiled at a public exhibition today.

Bosses at Norwich International airport hope to build an aviation business park after they teamed up with Cambridge-based property specialists Wrenbridge.

The park would have up to 100,000 square metres of floorspace and could create 1,000 new jobs within a decade.

If plans get the go-ahead the park will be developed on 100 acres of land to the north-east of the main runway.

The first phase of the development will be led by Norwich-based firm Air Livery, which currently has its headquarters on Liberator Road and resprays aircraft.

At the public exhibition the airport's chief executive, Andrew Bell, said: 'It makes a huge contribution to the airport's future.

'Our future is not dependent on this, but it will be a huge support towards its sustainability.'

Before submitting a planning application, airport bosses are held an exhibition on their plans in the arrivals area of the main terminal from 2pm to 8.30pm today and from 9.30am to 2pm tomorrow.

They are keen to get the views of the public and members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions about the proposals.

There will be directions from the short stay car park at the airport and parking tickets can be validated at the exhibition so visitors can park for free.
