Train passengers in North Walsham will now be able to pick up and buy tickets before travelling thanks to a £26,000 investment.

The new ticket machine will be officially unveiled this Friday at North Walsham railway station.

It will allow passengers to buy tickets before they travel and collect tickets bought online beforehand.

The machine, which is already operational, has been funded by Norfolk County Council and the Designated Community Rail Development Fund.

Mr Denby said: “We are pleased to complete this important upgrade for passengers.

“The ticket machine will make ticket purchase much easier for passengers.

“It is a really helpful addition to the print-at-home and mobile ticketing options we have already made available along the Bittern Line, between Norwich and Sheringham, in the last year.”

North Norfolk MP Norman Lamb, who will be at Friday’s launch with other interested groups, said: “I am delighted that Greater Anglia continues to invest in the line.”
