Holden Renault helping to drive Bateman Groundworks forward

Construction contractor Bateman Groundworks has added 10 more Renault vans to its existing 30-strong fleet from Holden Renault in Norwich.
The Great Yarmouth-based company provides groundwork and civil engineering services to new homes and the commercial sector and the additional Renault vans are needed to meet the demands of an ever-increasing order book and following a successful campaign to recruit extra staff including a number of new apprentices.
Managing director Richard Bateman said: “Our growth is being driven by the success of the housing market but also by the fact we offer a service our clients are looking for.
“We interviewed 24 prospective apprentices and chose 12 who will be taken on in four weeks’ time. They will be doing a two-year apprenticeship in construction operations with the West Anglian Training Association. The time is right to invest in an additional 10 Renault Kangoo vans to boost our existing fleet.
“Renault vans were chosen for their versatility, comfort, safety and competitive price. Importantly, they were available for immediate delivery.
“The service from Terry and Bill at Holden Renault has been impeccable.”
Terry Smith, business manager at Holden Renault in Heigham Street, said: “It is with great pleasure that Holden Renault hands over another 10 sets of keys to Bateman Groundworks. It’s reassuring to see a local business performing so well and knowing that our product is helping their efforts.”
Bateman Groundworks, launched by Mr Bateman in 1997 as a one-man operation, has grown to nearly 180 staff. Visit batemangroundworks.co.uk or telephone 01493 444644 for more information.
