A £20m project to add 1,700 spaces to railway station car parks will benefit Norfolk commuters.

Train company Greater Anglia will be expanding and improving parking at various stations over the next seven years, starting with Attleborough, Hockley, Marks Tey, Shenfield
and Bury St Edmunds this year.

Simone Bailey, Greater Anglia asset management director, said: “We know customers who drive to stations want to be able to park as quickly and easily as possible, which is why we’re committed to improving parking across the Greater Anglia network, making life a little easier for our customers.”

Across the network Greater Anglia is planning to build single and multi-storey car parks and extend surface car parks, subject to planning permission.

The company also intends to improve CCTV, signs and lighting at all extended car parks.
