Train passengers have experienced delays and cancellations on services to and from Norwich this morning.

The Norwich to Great Yarmouth, Norwich to Lowestoft and Norwich to Cambridge routes were affected this morning.

An Abellio Greater Anglia spokesperson said: “We apologise for the rural train cancellations this morning due to a train fault. Some of our rural trains are currently being refurbished in a £3m upgrade programme and one train is being repaired following serious damage sustained during the flooding in December, meaning there is less flexibility in our train plan than usual.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are working to restore the normal service as quickly as possible.”

Replacement buses were running from 8am at Norwich and Great Yarmouth due to this morning’s cancellations after an earlier train fault, although a couple of the services were able to be re-instated.

There were also some cancellations and delays on the Norwich to Cambridge line due to a train fault.
