Rail passengers on the Norwich to London line are being warned to expect some disruption this afternoon, after a person was hit by a train.

The incident happened at Forest Gate, London, at 3.30pm and involved a Southend service.

The line was reopened at 4.25pm, but Abellio Greater Anglia said there would be some residual disruption and delays this evening.

A spokesman for Greater Anglia said: “We are doing everything we can to recover services as quickly as possible. Passengers should check our website or social media as we will be keeping people informed of alterations to the train service.”
