Received some correspondence recently from an 'Admin Apprentice'. Perfectly nice young person and I wish them well but Apprenticeship, really? This term is over used by politicians who will do anything to grab a headline as most people associate apprenticeships with quality training. In fact a lot of these are not very challenging and not always full time posts. It does however get the number on jobseekers down which is what this is all about really. Apprenticeships are traditionally for construction, engineering and specialist craft type jobs. Sadly this country doesn't have as many of these as it should.
