With Houghton International just over, the EQ team hardly has time to draw breath before being out in force again at Blackwater Farm from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 July for the Great Witchingham International Horse Trials, so be sure to come and see us on our stand at this, and the many other events we are attending this season.

Houghton was a thrilling event this year, with local riders rubbing shoulders with the elite of the equestrian world, and as EQ sponsored the Unaffiliated Team Dressage event, which took place on Sunday, I was proud to have been asked to present the prizes to riders who travelled from all around the region to ride Prelim and Novice tests.

It was great to catch up with so many friends, old and new, and your words of support for EQ were truly appreciated, so thank you one and all.

This month’s cover story sees us at home with Piggy French and it was a real honour to see behind the scenes and hear about what makes her tick – read more on pages 11 to 14.

Finally, we’re hearing a few stories already of local people who are, for once in their lives, celebrating a dip in their bank balance! Of course, this is due to money being taken for tickets to the equestrian events at next year’s Olympics, so if you’ve managed to secure tickets, well done!
