Police have confirmed an elderly woman has died after she was hit by a delivery lorry in Hethersett.
Police were called to Great Melton Road in the village just before 9.20am this morning.
There were reports that a female pedestrian had been hit by a delivery lorry.
Police have confirmed that the elderly woman, who was in her 80s, died at the scene, despite attempts to resuscitate her.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance went to the scene and landed in a nearby field.
The air ambulance crew worked with colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service to try to resuscitate her.
An East Anglian Air Ambulance spokesman said: “Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of all those at the scene, the patient was declared deceased. Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this sad and difficult time.”
The road remained closed until 12.30pm, while enquiries continued, with drivers advised to stay away from the area.
