More than 30 homes in Norwich are still waiting for their water supply to be restored, after two water mains burst in separate incidents in the city.
Water began gushing across the road in Argyle Street, off Rouen Road, this morning and left more around 200 homes without water.
Engineers were working on the problem all day and by 5.30pm had reconnected all but 32 homes to the mains.
They are being supplied with bottled water by Anglian Water, which expects to restore their supply by midnight.
A spokesman said: “We’ve had some problems making the final repair. We have been providing bottled water to the affected customers as a goodwill gesture and our engineers are still on site.”
In a separate incident, a burst water main in Waterloo Road led to Anglian Water cutting the supply to 105 homes as the company carried out repairs. The water was stopped at around 4pm and restored by 6.30pm.
