Four police officers were forced to sit on a man to get him under control during a dramatic arrest in Great Yarmouth.

The officers wrestled with the man outside Poundstretcher in Regent Road at around 5.30pm.

The officers resorted to sitting on the man to keep him under control, as he struggled and screamed out to be freed.

The man's head was covered in blood. Great Yarmouth Police said on Twitter the man had attempted to head butt officers, but instead head butted the floor.

The incident drew a large crowd of onlookers before the man was finally taken away in a riot van at around 5.40pm.
