Performing twins who found fame on a popular children’s TV programme have appeared in a number one pop video.
Polly and Sophie Duniam, 27, whose mother runs Cromer-based Marlene’s School of Dancing, performed in the Rita Ora song I Will Never Let You Down.
Sophie said: “Rita was really cool and we got on very well. She was really down to earth. We knew the song would be number one. It was really nice to be involved in something like that.”
The sisters, who played the main pony-tailed roles in Home Farm Twins, which ran on the BBC from 1999-2002, live in London and perform as a pair in My Bad Sister. They were selected by the pop star after she saw one of their videos.
“Within a week of being told, we had flown out to Los Angeles. It was very last minute,” Sophie added.
The video was shot on March 6 in one day and I Will Never Let You Down is now number four in the Official UK Top 40 Singles Chart, after its first week at the top.
Polly and Sophie started their show business training at Marlene’s School of Dancing between the ages of three and 16.
As children they appeared in the chorus line of Cromer’s pier show and as they got older they performed at the Thursford Christmas Spectacular.
They have also appeared on Pet Shop Boys and Take That tours and in music videos for Pixie Lott and Duffy.
Polly and Sophie return to Marlene’s dance school regularly to run workshops and will be holding a summer school between July 28 – August 1 for children and teenagers.
