Comedy, award-winning movies and the most outrageous film musical of them are all on the bill to start the year at North Walsham’s Atrium arts centre.

Fans of the smash-hit Rocky Horror Show can dress up and enjoy a colourful, party night and film on Saturday February 22.

A special pre-show event will include a fancy dress contest, tuition in how to dance the Time Warp, and lots of fun.

Doors will open at 7pm for this special Atrium fundraising night and tickets at £10 will include a cocktail or soft drink, a goodie bag, and screening of the film at 8pm.

The movie stars Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Richard O’Brien and Meatloaf and is for those of 15+.

Also coming to the Atrium is a live version of the Lionel Bart musical Oliver! staged by pupils from North Walsham High School from March 11-14.

The show – based on Charles Dickens’ heartbreaking tale Oliver Twist - includes some of the great show songs of the past 50 years including Consider Yourself and Food Glorious Food.

Tickets range from £5 (concessions) to £25 (family of four).

History will never seem the same after the Living Spit drama company presents The Six Wives of Henry VIII on February 27.

The comedy company visit the Atrium after a smash hit success at the Bristol Old Vic and the Edinburgh Fringe, and includes live music, silly songs and Barbie dolls.

Tickets for this very irreverant slice of English history will be £9 adults and £7 concessions.

Two films which picked up honours at the recent Golden Globe awards are sure to please local movie fans.

The heart-warming comedy-drama Philomena (12A) starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan opens the new season on St Valentine’s Day, February 14, with both afternoon and evening screenings, and the space drama Gravity (12A) starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney is on February 21 at 7pm.
