The programme is a short sharp six-week blast of five productions, which run just once, instead of the double visits from recent years.

Theatre director Debbie Thompson said: 'It is a return to traditional weekly rep - so people will have to book early to ensure they don't miss out.

'There is an eclectic mix - something for everyone.'

The dramas will be performed by a company of eight professionals, bolstered by two young actors from Paston Sixth Form College, Joshua Duckmanton and Megan Bailes, who play the children in one of the farces.

Among the cast are returnees Richard Keightley who is playing four lead roles, and Ryan Starling, who is from North Walsham.

The Summer Rep programme, which launches on July 25, is:

? Funny About Love - a sequel to the well-known Girl in My Soup farce featuring London couple Piers and Rosie whose life is turned upside down when he dumps her for his young pregnant secretary. July 25-30.

? Kiss of Death - A menacing mystery involving a serial killer called The Surgeon, done in a contemporary manner which live screening on stage. August 1-7.
