If there was one album you wanted on your shelf back in the 1980s it was of course The Lexican of Love with lead singer Martin Fry holding a pistol in one hand and a girl in a long red dress in the other.

He wowed us then with his bright blond hair and shiny gold suits and although neither were in evidence last night, Fry and his New Wave boys sounded as good as they ever did.

• Review: Rick Astley at Reload Festival

• Photo Gallery: Thousands attend Reload music festival - but can you see yourself in our photos?

Fry still looks great in a suit, albeit tailored and not shiny, and the hair is grey not blond but you just fell in love all over again with those hits like Tears are Not Enough, Poison Arrow and of course the Look of Love...

I have to say Fry’s voice sounded as great singing this track last night as on the album all those years ago. Again a great crowd pleaser and über cool.

  • saturday nights reload festival at Norwich show ground was great but the only drawback was transport. we came from essex and stayed at Cringleford Travelodge and got a taxi to show ground and was told we can't prebook a taxi back so we would have to ring when we left show ground which we did. we left 5 minutes before the last song and was told by two taxi companies that they would not take any more fares even when we said it didnt matter how long we had to wait.we managed to get a bus from premier inn and the bus driver was really great and helpful. if this event is being repeated next year the organisers really need to think about how visitors are going to get transport from the show ground as we have learnt our lesson and will have to take our car and not drink if we ever go to norwich show ground again for any event.
