A classical music concert, with a “dancing” Spitfire and firework finale, is being given an encore at Blickling Hall after its success this summer.

The lakeside National Trust venue will again host the picnic-style event enjoyed by flag-waving crowds.

Next year’s event, on Saturday August 10, has an added twist, with a first half dedicated to movie tunes.

It will include a symphonic medley of James Bond themes to mark 50 years of agent 007, as well as other cinema classics such as The Way We Were, and Titanic’s My Heart Will Go On.

Promoters Revival Productions, who have again teamed up with the EDP for the event, said the concert was being staged following popular demand after the success of this year’s event.

It will once again feature a second half be full of Last Night of the Proms favourites, including Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory.

The Grace Spitfire which thrilled this year’s concertgoers is flying back in with another choreographed display.

A Revival spokesman said: “Audience participation will be heartily encouraged and it is guaranteed to be a veritable feast of great music and spectacle!

“Concertgoers can bring their own picnics, dress for the occasion if they so wish , soak up the atmosphere and come together to sing some anthemic favourites in the beautiful Blickling Hall setting. What better way to celebrate a history of iconic British music and film, in the company of great friends.”

The concert promised to be “a true celebration of some of the greatest music ever written” which will be performed by the highly acclaimed Sinfonia Viva orchestra under conductor Roderick Dunk, with Jessica Walker as mezzo soprano.

Parking is free at the event and early bird tickets are available at £29, until January 31, online at or call the box office (from Monday December 3) on 01263 734711. Group discounts of up to 20pc are also available. From February 1, tickets will be £32 (£35 on the night).
