The Norfolk Showground has seen thousands of people enjoying a whole variety of stalls and entertainment this weekend.
Aztec Events has had the All About Dogs Show and Norfolk All About Gardening Show running alongside each other today, after the gardening show got underway yesterday.
Both continue until 5pm today and then between 9.30am and 5pm tomorrow, with organisers hoping for more than 20,000 visitors across the two days.
Event host Pam Upson said she was really pleased with how the first two days had gone, saying: “It’s been excellent. The weather held out, we had about half an hour of rain, but people had come with their wellies and umbrellas so were prepared for if the weather turned.
“It’s been really, really busy and everybody seems to be reporting back to us that they’ve had a great time.”
The gardening show has had a selection of flowers, plants, trees, furniture and ornaments on display.
There is also a “how to” marquee with talks by Organic Kitchen Gardens, willow binding demonstrations, floral designs and flower competitions, as well as prize giveaways and live music.
A “Melange” floral competition is being run by Bungay Flower Club, consisting of seven classes, including Autumn Glory, Myths and Legends, Bountiful Harvest and Inspirations in Glass.
Another attraction likely to prove popular is the Daily Mail’s Gardeners Question Time Roadshow, where a panel of TV gardening celebrities will host a fun Q&A session whilst giving away prizes.
While dog owners have been able to prolong their Olympic excitement by entering their four-legged athletes inathe “Doggy Triathlon”, with 700 dogs expected to be entered in the fun events.
Mrs Upson added: “The dog show has proved very popular because people love to bring their dogs along with them.
“It’s a family dog show, they don’t have to be champion dogs. So the kids can bring their dogs and have a chance of winning and getting a rosette or a certificate.”
It includes a timed dash over hurdles, followed by a dive into the paddling pool to retrieve a floating object, and concluding with an “egg and spoon race”.
Other events include displays from the US-trained Dock Dogs pool team, fun dog shows, “waggiest tail” and “scruffiest pooch” competitions and arena entertainment.
Tickets are £5 for adults, £4.50 for concessions and £2 for children, and provide access to both shows. For more information go to www.aztecevents.co.uk
