Tall Productions, returns to Norwich Playhouse with Room On The Broom on Friday at 1pm and 3:30pm, and Saturday at 11am and 1:30pm. This musical adaptation of the bestselling book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, has extra magic added to it in the stage version. The witch and her cat are flying along on their broomstick when a wind blows off the witch’s hat, bow and wand, but with the help of a dog, bird and frog, her belongings are retrieved. But this broomstick’s not meant for five and it snaps in half, but when a hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch? This musical adaptation of a much loved book has been a hugely acclaimed success and is one for all the family, even being nominated for an Olivier Award earlier this year. Experience what life was like in the times of knights and maidens at the three-day ninth annual Mediaeval Spectacular at Pensthorpe Nature

Reserve, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 5pm. The event is brought to life by Black Knight Historical who will create recreation of medieval life, with artefacts and displays. The sights, sounds and smells will evoke the past with mediaeval cooking, crafts and actors talking through how soldiers’ dealt with fighting. The event will also include a mediaeval jousting contest, along with long boat invasions, fire breathing, and trader’s row. Jools Holland brings his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra are back in Norfolk again for a concert in the beautiful setting of the south park at Holkham on

Saturday at 7.30pm. Joining him will be special guest Roland Gift, the voice of Fine Young Cannibals, who made such a memorable appearance on Jools’ Hootananny show last New Year. Jools will perform tracks that span his entire solo career and that are a favourite with the fans, with some help from regular vocalist Louise Marshall. Its All About Dogs this weekend, with the All About Dogs show at the Norfolk Showground on Sunday and Monday at 10am till 5pm. This event will feature demonstrations, professional advice, activities, and doggy shopping to keep you and your beloved pet busy. Some of the best trained dogs in the region will be competing for coveted prizes, along with working dog demonstrations, and pet dog shows. Main Arena displays include K9 Capers Dog Display Team, gun dog training and the Dog & Duck Display Team. Take along your own dog (must be on lead and have full and up-to-date inoculations) and put them through the interactive dog agility display and see if they have what it takes to complete. Entry is free for ticket holders of All About Gardening taking place at the same venue, or £6.50 (£6 cons) and £3 for children on the gate. www.aztecevents.co.uk
